PREPARATION TIP: The remains of any prior,
(non Ecowoodoil or Organoil) finishes, must be removed entirely
by sanding the surface back to raw timber. A higher standard
of finishing will be achieved by fine preparatory sanding.
KEY APPLICATION TIP:
Apply 2 coats to raw timber and 1 coat when reappapplying.
Aways rub in/rub off excess oil after every application.
WAXING AND POLISHING: Should
you be wax-finishing over this product one coat of oil would
suffice, though permit application of oil to cure a min.
14 days before waxing or polishing.
WET AREAS:
Danish Style Oil is not suitable for internal wet
areas (Bathrooms and Laundrys) - Ecowoodoil's Garden
Furniture Oil with it's anti-fungal oils and beeswax
additives would best address timbers in these locations.
MAINTENANCE:
Prior to re-application, wipe over surfaces with
solution of warm water and wood alcohol (methylated spirits)
– use with synthetic scourer for difficult to remove
grime. Re-oil (ONE coat) as necessary.
CLEAN UP:
with warm soapy water or Gum Turpentine.
COVERAGE:
These estimates are quoted in square metres per litre. Actual
Coverage will depend on the type of timber and its preparation.
Bear in mind that unnecessarily using too much oil not only
costs you more but could also lead to a tacky finish and
possible whitening when moisture contacts excess oil residues.
